0N A MISSION

In 2008 I volunteered to build brand awareness and increase donations through a redesigned logo and identity system. I had met an amazing woman spearheading an organization that funds a world-class running club. The mission of this club was not just to teach girls to run, but to guarantee girls access to education and confidence-boosting life skills so they can stay with their families, stay in school, and discover their self-worth. I was inspired.

GIrls Gotta Run Foundation Redesign

GOALS:

Drive donations by elevating the brand system to inspire confidence in the Girls Gotta Run mission and trust in their ability to implement change.

INSIGHTS:

It was imperative to develop a logo that both captured the vibrant energy and limitless potential of the girls in the Girls Gotta Run program. It was also important for the brand look to feel youthful and progressive.

SUCCESSES:

Through close partnership with the Girls Gotta Run Executive Director and Board, I redesigned the organization’s primary logo and codified an identity system that implemented new standards across both existing and new collateral. I created 2 versions to allow for flexibility in placement and media. I used an image of one of the athletes as inspiration for the iconic silhouette of the forward-running girl. She is bold and strong. I used 2 variations of green to emote growth, energy, and progress. Black and white function to create modernity in the system and offset the vibrant greens. Photography strategically leans into greens, yellows, black, and white to reinforce brand recognition.
